Akulayou need either hr24 or h24 model reveicers and and bridged home network system (cat5 into each room or home plug hardware ). it uses your internet network to play dvr programs in other rooms google for info about replay quality in other rooms, i heard there is an issue with this, although i cant verify it i am confidant that directv will work it out with software updates..if its even truealso requires a swm slimline hd dishdss new whole house dvr is not at all like dish networks dual tuner reveicers
Deborahif you have DirecTV, read this:DirecTV's DVR can only record two shows at the same time if there are two ceblas running from the dish to the receiver. you also may have an older dvr box that can really only record ONE show at a time. the claim that you can watch one thing and record another often refers to watching already recorded shows (accessing recorded shows WHILE the dvr records a live channel).if you have Dish Network, read this:Dish Network's DVRs are built to work two tvs at the same time. this is called a dual tuner. if your dvr's model number is 522 or above, then you have a dual tuner. if your dvr is only hooked up to one tv instead of two, you can put the receiver in SINGLE mode, allowing you to record two shows at the same time.without knowing exactly the setup you have (service, receiver model and type, etc.), this is about as much as i can help.
