Why Satellite is Better Than Cable

There are a lot of differences between the satellite and cable companies. They may appear to be similar but in reality there are a lot of reasons to choose satellite over cable. This article will go over a few of these reasons and while they are important.

The first reason is price. Satellite companies have not had to invest in millions of dollars of cable and infrastructure that the cable companies have. Because of this they have lower costs and because they want to remain competitive they will always beat cable prices even if it's just by a little.

The second reason is because satellite is the only provider which can offer true HDTV. Cable is only capable of delivering around 900 lines of resolution. Satellite on the other hand because it is a truly digital service is capable of supporting the full 1080 lines which is the capacity of most modern televisions.

The third reason is that with a satellite company you will own all your own equipment. This means that after your initial service agreement is done you will own the satellite and all the receivers. Even if you switch your service to another provider you can store this equipment and get a better price the next time you use that same provider by using it.

The fourth reason is that the channel selection is so much better with a satellite company. The satellite companies have been better about negotiating deals with the individual networks and therefore have a much better selection of channels than the competition.
