I saw something very ilsimar a few months ago. I live in Tasmania and work at a school fairly high up as a security guard. You can view the arrival and departure paths to the airport and notice even the smaller things in the sky at times so it's easy to dismiss most things.. I was heading back to my office after telling some kids to piss off with their motorbikes and noticed a massive lit object coming across the mountain. It went across the sky for a while and then disappeared. Was HUGE

I attended and was glad to see the large and egnaged audience. Whether it was successful in changing business behaviors, only time will tell. One of the issues with having a great evening (great presentation, great participation) is carrying it forward into the business management and mindset. The difficulty in hands up ROI assessments is there is a lot of emotion and peer influence. Perhaps a Survey Monkey follow-up would work well to get the individual day after candid comments. What questions could we ask?Do you see your business practices changing as a result of this workshop? Small/Med/Large?What changes in the way you do business do you expect to make? Add a blog? Create a community forum? Other?Could we check back in 2 months, 4 months, 6 months to see the actual impact?

Kannst Du mir helfen?Danke, Sabrina

I support your idea for the sign, John. That nahncel does suck. I think that Comcast has over-estimated the draw to Mountain West football. I think a lot of people watch it casually while they're doing other things on Saturday. Sure, there's the folks that plan their whole day around it, and they might track it down at a friend's house or something, but I can't see many people switching to Comcast just to see some football games. My sisters will watch parts of the game if it's on at their house. But they're not going to put forth any effort beyond that. If I miss some games, I won't care much. The advertisers are reaching a smaller audience, the fan support of Mountain West teams will lose some momentum, and in the end, it's just a really dumb deal.I will certainly not give up my wonderful satellite service for Mountain West football. I would have watched the games now I don't really care either way. Way to go, MTN and Comcast!

Your message...Your message...Currently you have JavaScript disabled. I cant see what options you would have. Since DSL and Cable aren't aabalvie and you are unwilling to cut down trees Perhaps if you cut down specific branches or something? Maybe some place in town has internet access? Like a Cafe or a Laundry Mat? Thats where alot of internet is available in my town. I live in a rural area of the southern states, but We have Cable and DSL available in our area, though we've been told we couldn't get TV Satelite unless we cut down our 88 year old Pecan tree.So far, we've stuck with the cable.

Gail, The things you were wtnirig about in the past and the way you presented your thoughts were one of the impressive and important parts of the oildrum, for me at least. I would be very interested to read more write-ups like you did in the past.A different side of the story I would like to hear about is more solution oriented, but not the same old same old like grow your own food and get solar roofs. No. There is certainly more. I have not seen yet a lot of thoughts along the lines of how our current achievements especially around knowledge, technology, a web-based society, education, creativity may help to evolve and shape new paradigms which ultimately increase our productivity enough to compensate for the productivity we are losing by decreasing cheap oil/capita which was our old productivity booster. So for example. Obviously the future will be distributed-collaborative . Today everything is central (I don't know how to express that better) .we drive to an office building or a factory to go to work, we drive to the mall to shop, food is produced in large areas and transported from there out into the world this is not sustainable. And how necessary really is such a model in these days? It is often more a habit and a state of mind that we work in an office but we can work from home in many jobs, technology allows that nowadays beautifully (I and my colleagues do this since many years). Think about it do we really need to commute? Many don't, believe me, between email, intranet, webmeetings, smart-phones, videochats why do you need to be physically present? Mankind has learned a lot. We know how to generate electricity, and there is much more than just solar, wind, oil, gas, nuclear, .there is biomass (all varieties, including cellulose ethanol) and the geothermal energy, there are energy sources like wood-gas and even gyms generating their own electricity from biking classes. I want to hear about tools which would be helpful in a distributed lifestyle, like for example the Sterling engine (DeKa) development might be and there are certainly plenty more.We do also know now a lot about how to grow food organically on a pretty large scale with quite reliable harvests. It is not the medieval times any more as it was pre-oil. We are post-oil but we gained a lot of knowledge which we can put into work even more, many do it already. I want to hear more about that side of the story. Look at the impact of hi-tech to create new energy by also saving and restructuring our society. Do we really need mega-farms and ranches? Rather not I would say .can we migrate and how to a society in which large cities are no more but smaller communities, creating their food, their energy, but connected with the whole world and still working globally?Last but not least maybe I sound a bit too rosy in my vision above but I would like to see facts which support or dismiss and invite to discussions. Cheers! Sylvia

Hi goldenflake,The irnatnel antenna is fine for in-car use if you are in a major city with a strong terrestrial repeater network, such as D.C. NYC, LA, etc.If you aren't near any repeaters, and the antenna has to be able to see the satellites, it won't be as good in the car. An XMp3 Car Kit is recommended, it includes a cradle, antenna, power connection, audio connection, and remote control.Hope that helps,CrutchfieldTV

Dear Target Customer service:As a cteuomsr since 2001 I was astonished today when I decided to take you up on your shopping offer and save 10% when using my Target to make a purchase. I checked my account balance and found that my available credit had been reduced recently which given the current state of the economy is completely understandable as you are likely minimizing risk. Rather than $300 of available credit I expected you had reduced my available credit in the last few weeks to just $100. Again, understandable given these uncertain times. So I took some cash and my card with $100 of available credit according to your update just a few days ago and went to my favorite Target location here in Seal Beach to do some Christmas shopping in an effort to take advantage of the 10% offer YOU SENT TO ME in the mail recently. When I arrived at check out after an hour and a half spent shopping at your establishment I was told by the very nice cashier that unfortunately the purchase had been declined. I reduced the level of my purchase to under $40 and was again told it would not go through. Unbelievable. How was this possible? When I got home I checked over my account online and found that you had reduced the available credit not once but twice and all without notification. I believe that this is exactly what Congress and the people in our great nation are so confused and upset about. A lack of common courtesy and no business acumen whatsoever. While I know that it is important for businesses to manage risk but question why you would waste valuable resources including the cost of mailing and the loss of the paper and time necessary to complete the mailing of this Special Offer that YOU* sent to me.I run a mid size company and am from time to time astonished that companies like Target continue to flourish in difficult times given the lack of cteuomsr service example I have just provided. Perhaps times are changing. Please understand that as I circulate this to my friend Jack Popejoy at KFWB and other local radio, television and web based consumer reports sites along with Ed Royce (Congressman from our district who has taken a particular interest in credit card company's behavior recently ) it is my hope that this letter of correspondence receives something other than a canned response from your system. But be assured that all correspondence will be placed on some very high profile sites around the net beginning with this letter and then adding to the string as you reply. The next move is yours.Respectfully,Name withheld until they fix the problem!

This is a great visual enioclypedca for learning what parts of furniture and styles from different periods look like. When reading about a reproduction Greek klismos chair with sabre legs or a Louis XV commode with Sevres plaque and riband trim, there is nothing like a visual reference to understand what those words actually mean. Not a light read, but this is an important addition to the bookshelf of anyone really serious about being educated in elements of interior design.

Great question. The XMP3 was a Pioneer brand altrpboe XM radio, the XMP3I is the same radio under the Audiovox brand. There is no difference in the radio itself. Same specs, same recording capabilities, same everything. The new model is compatible with the PowerConnect system for connecting to a radio through the FM modulator. The new model also costs less than the old one did.New model is in stock and waiting for you as I write this.CrutchfieldTV800 315 0030
