| NickelodeonNickelodeon (usually abbreviated as Nick, and originally named Pinwheel from December 1, 1977 to March 31, 1979) is an American cable television network owned by MTV Networks, a subsidiary of Viacom International. The channel is aimed mostly at children ages 6–12, with the exception of their weekday morning programming that is aimed at children ages 2–5. As of 2010, Nickelodeon is the number one cable tv newtork with kids 2-11 and 6-11 beating out competitors Disney Channel and Cartoon Network.
